Nominator's project description
| Professor Rodriguez is internationally renowned for his work in power electronics and electrical drives. He has opened new frontiers in his field regarding matrix converters, multilevel converters and predictive control techniques. His work has greatly helped to improve both the technological capability and energy efficiency of drive technology for the mining industry — a cornerstone industry in his home country Chile. While in Germany, he will continue his research regarding novel converter topologies, grid structures, control methods, as well as regenerative energy sources. |
